Little Lady Tess Turns 1...Happy 1st Birthday!

Tess turned one year old on July 9th! We were so lucky to have the family in town to help us celebrate this special occasion. We had a ladybug theme for the little lady and it was lots of fun. Mimi made the girls tutus and I of course had to make the matching hair clips. Aunt Erica was the photographer...which was sweet for me! Thank you Erica! We had ladybug earrings for the ladies and lady bug toy prizes. There were ladybugs everywhere! The cake was fun...my first time stacking a cake...next time I will definitely give myself more time to assemble the cake...but it turned out ok in the end. Anyway...we had a blast! So glad we have our little lady Tess!

Luke's Fishing Party - 7 years old

Luke turned 7 on June 7th and he had his first birthday party with friends from school. His favorite thing in the world to do is still Fishing...so that was our theme! I loved every minute of pulling this party together. We had so much fishing stuff around the house that the decorating was easy! With my new love for making and creating with fondant I was able to create a fishing pond cake complete with a fisherman, ducks, rocks, cattails, a turtle and a frog...it was so fun! We also had bait bucket cupcakes complete with worms! My favorite thing however might have been the watermelon shark that had swedish fish falling out of the mouth also known as "the deadliest catch". I also made a mini scrapbook for Luke with pictures of him fishing since he was 2 years old. I had all the guests sign it or write a message. It came out really nice. Also...toward the end of the pictures you will see Luke holding up something with a disapproving look...it was a joke...Keith's mom gave him a fishing tea set. It was hillarious! We love birthdays around here and we have 3 kids with birthdays 4 weeks apart...so it gets crazy! Anyway...can't believe Luke is already 7! He is becoming quite the awesome young man. We love him so much! Happy Birthday Luke!

Elle's 4th Birthday (My Little Pony Party)

Elle was so excited to have her own party this year! Usually we combine hers and Lukey's because their birthdays are only a few days apart...well Luke is having his friends over this year...and Elle got the family party all to her self :) She was in heaven!She asked for a My Little Pony theme. It was a lot of fun. I got to decorate with rainbow colors and made 2 really fun cakes with fondant and buttercream icing. This was my first go at trying to make a fondant cake. It was both frustrating and fun since I did all my learning via You Tube videos...lol! I was so happy the cake turned out and was very edible :) It was all worth it when I saw the look on my kids' faces the first time they saw the cake table. I love birthdays...Happy Birthday to our beautiful and boisterous 4 year old. There really isn't a dull moment with her...we are so glad she is apart of our family!
